Have you ever felt that the PS3 controllers werent as good as the Xbox 360s and always wanted to play Call of Duty using the precise analog sticks of the Xbox 360 controller?

Well now you can!

A company called XCM has announced a new adaptor which will allow the crossover conversion to enable you to use a 360 controller on the PS3. The 360 controllers are renowned for their trigger buttons and I personally think this could enhance certain gameplay controllers, especially FPS games.

The XCM Cross Battle Adapter is a USB device which plugs straight into your PS3 and then all you need to do it pop your 360 controller into the adapter and away you go!! You can also go Old Skool with the adapter as it has the added bonus ofrapid fire! Choose the button of your choice of whip Call of Duty: World at War or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare into your PS3 and set your M1 Grand or Desert Eagle to rapid fire and watch your enemies cower at your knees.

Price at $39.99 may seem a little steep, especially is you have to buy a wired Xbox 360 controller on top. But do you think this is something that youre going to buy or take advantage of? Or is this just a gimmick that will just end up being confusing with button configuration?

When I had the original XBox, I did prefer the controllers to the PS2 and would prefer to be using the Xbox 360 controller for FPS games on my PS3.

Let us know your views. Are you happy with the PS3 controllers or do you prefer the Xbox 360 controllers?

Ah, the Gaming World. An amazing modern phenomena which has transformed the way in which we spend our time. So many people live the gaming life with an abundance of different consoles and gadgets. Should you be thinking about buying your very first console, or if you want to extend your collection further, stop looking here; you have found what you seek.

I will give here a short article for the time conscious of you, and I will discuss the ‘big three,’ the Sony PlayStation 3, the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. Each has triumphs and each has drawbacks, and I will present these in due course over the next few minutes.

Firstly, the Sony PlayStation 3 [PS3]. Following the success of the original PlayStation, and the subsequent landmark, the PS2, Sony must be thriving on the sheer sales alone of the system. We have always loved the PlayStation and always will. The PS3 introduces a totally wireless controller, charged via USB cable to the system itself. In addition, the controller is SIXAXIS enabled, allowing movements with the controller to be replicated on screen, for example in Grand Theft Auto 4, a jerking back of the controller allows the character to do a wheelie on a motorbike. Vehicles can also be steered in this way. Furthermore, the Graphics on the PS3 are unrivaled by any other console. The sheer intensity of the game is totally revealed with amazingly realistic gameplay. The PS3 retails at around 250 and is a brilliant buy for any gamer, hardcore or casual.

Secondly, the Xbox 360 follows on from an original Xbox with internet play and community. Now, the online side of the Xbox is undeniably cool and it brings a brilliant experience to anyone who wants to talk, play or download movies over it. Despite not having the SIXAXIS controls of the PS3, the controller feels nicer and chunkier in the hands, with two comfortable analogue sticks, and triggers for shooting games, much like the R1 and R2 buttons on the PlayStation. A disadvantage, though, is that leaving it on for anymore than 6 hours leaves it liable to overheating. Despite this, the 360 is the cheapest console and basic models start from 130 (for the casual gamer) right up to the elite console at around 200 (for the pro gamer).

The Nintendo Wii changed gaming forever since its release. Previously, gaming was sitting back in a chair and moving just fingers and thumbs, but now you can play golf in your lounge without breaking the TV. Just be sure to fit the safety strap on the remote. A variety of remote attachments allow the main remote and ‘nunchuck’ controller to be converted into a gun, a tennis racket or a baseball bat. In fact, many more good games are coming to Wii, which is another advantage for anyone looking to buy one. Furthermore, you may often see a Wii in an Elderly folks’ home, getting the residents up and moving. It also gets everyone else exercising with the new Wii Fit balance board, which has seen record sales and has had brilliant reviews all across the globe. The Wii retails at 180, coming with a free game, Wii Sports (Worth 20-30).

All in all, it is down to you to decide upon your personal console. Each is loved by many and each can bring many advantages to the purchaser. I personally own a PlayStation 3 and a Wii, although I’m aware of and respect the Xbox’s status as well. Any console is the right choice. Just pick the one that suits you best.

The PlayStation 3 game console coming out from Sony Computer Entertainment is the third one in the row of game consoles launched by the electronic giant. Marketed officially as PLAYSTION3, and commonly abbreviated as PS3, the third home video game console competes with Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. Released first on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America and Asia, and March 23, 2007 in Europe and Oceania, the game console enjoys a third place in sales and marketing. The PlayStation 3 is considered as the first console with next-generation primary storage media, Blu-ray Disc, in spite of its supporting to DVDs, CDs, HDDs and with some models SACDs. The PlayStation 3 game console can also play back content from Blu-ray Disc (BD) at a bit rate of multiplex 48Mbps, the maximum bit rate defined in BD standards.

The PlayStation 3 game console along with the features of the 20 GB model, the 60 GB model also carries along with it additional features including internal IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, multiple flash card readers (SD/MultiMedia Card, CompactFlash Type I/Type II, Microdrive, Memory Stick/PRO/Duo) and a chrome colored trim. The hardware used for the 80 GB model released in South Korea was almost same to the 60 GB model released in Europe and Australia. It was only the size of the hard drive that was differing. The North American 80 GB model excluded the PlayStation 2 “Emotion Engine” chip following the South Korean and European models, instead by providing PS2 compatibility via software emulation, which reduced the level of compatibility. It was found that the 40 GB model had two USB ports instead of the four USB ports on other models, and excludes a multi memory card port, SACD support, or any backwards compatibility with PlayStation 2 titles.

Until now Sony has not released any official Wi-Fi or flash memory card readers for the 20 GB system, although plans for such add-ons are in place. The second generation PS3s (40 GB) use Cell CPUs of 65nm while at the same time the first generation PS3s (60 GB) use Cell CPU of 90nm. This shows that the system runs cooler requiring less power to operate.
