Sky is in the process of getting set for the launch of Sky 3D TV by giving away the new and improved Sky+ HD for free to new and existing customers.

The Sky+ HD Box will be used to view Sky 3D TV and Sky want as many of their customers to have this box in their home to make the transition from HD TV to 3D TV as smooth as possible.

Sky are marketing the new and improved Sky+ HD Box as the Sky SuperTelly and their offering Free standard set-up, free broadband and calls and a £25 M&S voucher if customers join Sky+ HD online.

This is a clear sign that they really want to penetrate the HD market and get to a critical level of HD Subscribers and suggested that the launch of 3D TV is key to their long term profits.

Sky+ HD is the widest provider of live HD Channels in the UK and now offers 37 Sky HD Channels which is vastly more than any other provider. Virgin Media, however, are hot on their heels and have plans to launch a number of live HD Channels later this year.
